NSW GOVERNMENT ACTIVE KIDS PROGRAM

The NSW Government is helping kids get active with the new Active Kids program. Although from 31 January 2018, parents, guardians and carers can apply for a voucher valued up to $100 per calendar year for each school-enrolled child, Budokan Judo Club will not be in a position to be able to accept these vouchers until the club is registered as a provider. As Judo NSW did not pre-register clubs, we have to wait until 1 March 2018 before we can apply. Therefore, because the vouchers are not retrospective and can be uses once at any time of the year, we recommend that our members use them after we advise of our registration as a provider. If you pay fees quarterly, this should not cause a problem. If you pay fees either 6 monthly or annually, this should be done mid or end of year so should also not be a problem. To be an eligible child, you must be a NSW resident, aged between 4.5 and 18 years, and enrolled in school (from Kindergarten to Year 12, including those who are home-schooled or enrolled in secondary school education at TAFE NSW).  The voucher may be used with an approved activity provider for registration, participation and membership costs for sport, fitness and active recreation activities. This also means that the voucher can be used to pay your annual Judo NSW registration via http://www.judonsw.com.au/ (For New members – “Join a Club”; For existing or Temporary members – “Renew”). You will notice 2 new options in Judo NSW registrations:“Junior Membership (NSW Active Kids Voucher System”  (No Fee, because the voucher covers the $90 Junior Fee)“Senior Membership (NSW Active Kids Voucher System”  $30 (with the $100 voucher adding up to the $130 fee)Remember, you can only use the voucher once per year. Any issues, please talk to Rob.
