We have a critical and time‑sensitive opportunity to influence Council’s Plan for Castle Hill Showground, outlined in the Castle Hill Showground Draft Plan of Management. This is both a major opportunity and a significant risk for our club.
- Back in 2020, when Council first initiated this project, we had a strong voice and submitted a detailed case for securing a dedicated facility within the Showground. The project stalled during Covid, but it has now been revived — and we must act quickly to ensure our needs are not overlooked.
You can review the process and the draft plan here:
The deadline for submissions is 1 April, and it is essential that the club makes a strong, unified representation emphasising:
- the importance of an appropriate, dedicated facility within the Showground, and
- the timing and impact of any proposed changes to our current location.
- Use the template letter attached to the email accompanying this newsletter.
- Add your details and digital signature if possible. If not, print, sign, and scan or photograph the letter. I will also have printed copies available at the club on Tuesday for anyone who needs them.
- Visit the link above and scroll to “Have your say below.”
- Create an account, upload your signed letter, and submit your response.
- Encourage others in the club to do the same — the more submissions we lodge, the stronger our voice becomes.
How you can help — urgently: - We have only 10 days left to make our concerns heard.Your action now is essential to securing our future at the Showground.
