2022 ACT INTERNATIONAL OPEN - 18TH – 20TH FEBRUARY

Congratulations to all 15 Budokan Judo Club athletes who contested the 2022 Canberra International Open. Great to be back on board the domestic competition circuit again. Given the vaccination requirements and exclusion of Junior Boys and Girls age categories, our numbers were much smaller than usual but still a high quality group.We had 13 athletes contesting 21 divisions winning:16 medals: 5 Gold, 4 Silver and 7 Bronze with 2 x 5th and 1 x 7th places.A great effort especially given 4 of our 13 athletes were new Cadets!!!   • Jacinta Vumbaca U52kg Junior Women - Bronze, Senior Women - Silver
  • Isabella Vumbaca U48kg Senior Women – Bronze

 Additionally 3 athletes contested the Kata competition as follows:

  • Bernhard and Bjorn Tandean – Silver level for Nage-No-Kata and Bronze level for Katame-No-Kata
  • Bernhard and Bianca Tandean – Silver level for Ju-No-Kata
