Budokan Return to Training - COVID-19 Policies & Procedures (Juniors/Seniors)

BUDOKAN POLICIES FOR RETURNING TO TRAINING 

  • Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday Junior and Senior sessions will commence from Thursday 2nd July.
  • Wednesday MONS and Dinos will commence the beginning of Term 3, Wednesday 22nd  July
  • Monday Senior Beginner and Kyu Grades session will commence Monday 27th July
  • Judo NSW has extended everyone’s membership (from when they were previously due). To participate in training, you must be financial with Judo NSW. Please check before coming to training. If you are not financial, you will not be able to train.
  • Numbers on the mat are limited to 20. Attendance is by advanced booking.From 8.00am the day of training, you must sms Kerrye on 0416235816 and state:

                     * Member’s name, and                     * Junior or Senior session                     * No booking = no training

  • 15 spaces are available for spectators, first in first served. Once the spaces provided have been filled, please leave the Dojo until pickup time and have your child meet you at the door. Do not take additional chairs from the stacks.
  • New beginners will only be able to commence training within the first 3 weeks of each school term.
  • You need to arrive at the club earlier than normal to allow for the new entry process.Refer to separate sheets for Juniors and Seniors

 Juniors and Seniors training times have changed:

  • * Juniors (Tuesday/Thursday) time is now 6.00-7.30pm but you must arrive 5.45-5.55pm to sign in, get temp check and be lined up at 6.00pm. Classes will finish 15 minutes early to clean up and clear the Dojo before Seniors
  • * Seniors (Tuesday/Thursday) time is now 7.30-9.00pm but you must arrive 7.15-7.25pm and classes will finish early for clean-up.

 

  • If you are late, do not attend training - you will not be allowed on the mat.
  • If you leave the mat for reasons other than first aid, your training session has finished.
  • Exercise the principles of respiratory hygiene: cover your nose/mouth when coughing or sneezing; use tissues to contain respiratory secretions; dispose of tissues in the nearest waste receptacle after use; and wash hands afterwards.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
  • Do not touch or use any equipment in the hall unless instructed to do so by a Coach.
  • Limit unnecessary contact with other people exercising social distancing where possible.
  • If you enter the Dojo and do not comply with any of the above conditions, you will be asked to leave the Dojo and must do so immediately.

* Budokan will be extending its coverage of paid training fees to Budokan members. Our last session was 21st March and all classes will resume 27th July. Budokan will therefore extend all paid training fees by 4 months. Please check to ensure that you are current with your training fees including for the COVID downtime. 4 months will be added to your last training fee due date.

  1. You acknowledge that all risks associated with training cannot be fully eliminated regardless of the steps we take and each student’s continued participation is their informed choice and at their risk or that of their parent(s)/guardian(s). 
  2. If in doubt about any of the above requirements, please do not participate in training.

**********************************************JUNIORS 6.00-7.30pm – RETURNING TO TRAINING****************************************************** 

  • Due to COVID-19,  Judo will resume from Thursday 2nd July for Junior and Senior classes.  It is essential that we all act responsibly when resuming training activities but YOU MUST take a personal responsibility.

Please take the time to read this and to explain this to your child/children before they attend any training sessions

  • training times have changed (5.45 to 7.15pm)
  • No child can enter the class after it starts (6.00pm)
  • parents/carers MUST sign children in
  • parents must pick up child at the door at 7.15pm promptly
  • have a full drink bottle (cannot leave the mat to refill)
  • have been to the toilet – children cannot access the toilet and return back to training
  • children can only leave the mat (if wanting to return) for first aid (tape, ice)
  • be a current registered member of  Judo NSW (all memberships are being extended)
  • there will be limited seats available for spectators (only in allocated seats observing social distancing requirements)

  PROCEDURE: 

  • 5.45-5.55pm On arriving child’s temperature will be taken (before entering the hall and parent if staying to watch)
  • Parent/carer will complete the attendance register and answer 4 specific questions
  • Child will enter club and be given sanitizer to use for hands and feet
  • Child will put their training bag on the floor at the back of the hall – any clothes/phone etc. must be put inside the bag
  • Drink bottles need to be placed on the edge of the mat
  • When stepping onto the mat they will again be given sanitizer for hands and feet
  • The hall needs to be cleaned and sanitized before the Seniors can start
  • 7.15pm All children will again be given sanitizer prior to leaving. Children must leave promptly as the Senior class cannot enter until all juniors have left.

  ****************************************************SENIORS 7.30-9.00pm – RETURNING TO TRAINING****************************************************

Please take the time to read this and to explain this (if needed) to your child/children before they attend any training sessions

  • training times have changed (7.15 to 9.00pm).
  • No athlete can enter the class after it starts (7.30pm)
  • You MUST sign in
  • Must leave the mat at 9.00pm promptly
  • have a full drink bottle (cannot leave the mat to refill)
  • have been to the toilet – you cannot access the toilet and return back to training
  • you can only leave the mat (if wanting to return) for first aid (tape, ice)
  • be a current registered member of  Judo NSW (all memberships are being extended)
  • there will be limited seats available for spectators (only in allocated seats observing social distancing requirements)
  • If you are coming to the junior class for randori – you can only enter at 6.45-6.50pm. You must follow all the same requirements (as state below) and be on the mat within 5 minutes of entering the hall.

  PROCEDURE: 

  1. 7.15-7.25pm On arriving your temperature will be taken (before entering the hall and parent/ if staying to watch)
  2. You will complete the attendance register and answer 4 specific questions
  3. You will enter club and be given sanitizer to use for hands and feet
  4. You will put your training bag on the floor at the back of the hall – any clothes/phone etc. must be put inside the bag
  5. Drink bottles need to be placed on the edge of the mat
  6. When stepping onto the mat you will again be given sanitizer for hands and feet
  7. 8.45pm You will assist in cleaning the mat and will again be given sanitizer prior to leaving. You must leave promptly after the mats have been cleaned.

The chairs need to be cleaned and sanitized at the end of training.
