2022 ILLAWARRA SENIOR LADDER COMPETITION RESULTS – 27TH MARCH

Congratulations to the 2 Budokan Judo Club athletes who contested the 2022 Illawarra Kyu Grade Ladder competition. Manjyot Khaira won 2 matches out of his 4 and unfortunately Daniel Kennedy lost both his matches but noting that both these athletes are Veteran category athletes and this was an open age event, it was a big effort to front up for their matches.

BUDOKAN MONS/JUNIOR COMPETITION CANCELLATION – 6TH MARCH

Sadly, due to the horrific weather we had over a number of weeks, it was impractical to run our Budokan Mons and Junior competition in March. No matter, we are now well prepared for when we schedule the next similar competition later in the year.

2022’S RELEASE OF NEW BUDOKAN MERCHANDISE

We are currently working on all-new design Budokan merchandise starting with a club Tee shirt. Samples will be available soon for pre-ordering. Watch out for a bright new colour scheme, a modified Budokan logo and the subtle introduction of our new Budokan motivational motto: “We Fight As One”. Other new merchandise will be introduced over time. Thanks to Jo Edwards for her efforts to date in taking the creative lead and coordinating this project.

CLUB STORAGE PROJECT

We are currently working on replacing our very old cabinets which store our Judogis and other “Budokan” merchandise. This is a big project and a big investment. The outcome will make an enormous difference to our storage capacity. Combined with the introduction of an effective inventory management system, we will be in a much better position to handle sales of Judogis and club merchandise and manage re-stocking. Thanks to Gary McPherson, Franz Tandean, Andras Koltai,  Sam Vumbaca, Peter Jennings and Sean Brothers for their work on this project to date.
