JUDO NSW AND BUDOKAN COVID-RELATED POLICY

The Judo NSW policy still applies whereby all people aged 16 years and over attending all Judo NSW events need to be double vaccinated. Therefore confirming proof of double vaccination is now a condition of entry/participation to any Judo NSW run event for people 16 years and above whether participating as a competitor, coach, official, volunteer, or spectator. Further extension of this condition includes representation in NSW teams, training, and education programs run in person by Judo NSW.

  • Judo NSW has left the decision of vaccination status with individual clubs regarding training at their clubs.  Budokan Judo Club’s position is that everyone is able to come back to training. Obviously we prefer double vaccination for all those who are eligible but NSW Health has opened up gym and martial arts activities to the general population and this is the position that the club is taking. With relaxation of the NSW restrictions, our policy with respect to entry conditions is now:

  • No QR Code scanning
  • Temperature testing (37.5 Deg C max)
  • hand sanitising for all
  • wearing of mask for spectators whilst indoors optional
  • no maximum number of 20 spectators but social distancing is encouraged
  • wiping down the mats and furniture at the conclusion of classes

Please make sure you have NO flu-like symptoms if intending to come to the club. If in doubt, please don’t come!

Please note the previous article which described the Judo NSW participation and entry policy as follows:

2022 ACT INTERNATIONAL OPEN - 18TH – 20TH FEBRUARY

Entries are open for the 2022 ACTIO and close 4th February (late fee applies after that until 14th February). Information sheet is attached and can be found at:

Spectators must also apply on-line. Information on the training camp is at the same link.  Please note due to vaccination requirements at the AIS, all participants and spectators must be double-vaccinated.  The Junior Boys and Girls age category is therefore not being included in the program. It is also likely that some Senior Boys and Girls will not be able to compete due to an inability to get double vaccinated in time. This also applies to all spectators.  Further information of AIS requirements is available at “09122021_ASC-HP-zone-Vaccination-Policy.pdf” on the sportaus.gov.au web page.
