This was also a very nice event, albeit small compared to our normal Annual Awards Night, but it was really nice to be able to properly acknowledge our high performance athletes: the 22 Budokan 2021 NSW State Team members to the Nationals, our 15 Nationals Gold medallists and our 2 representatives to the Tokyo Olympic Games.
Covid testing is still taking place in the Showground near the Pavilion Theatre; however when operating, traffic may be diverted so that direct access to the club may be difficult. Worst case is if there is a backup in traffic or the boom gate at the corner of Doran and De Clambe Drives is down. In these cases, travel east along De Clambe Drive toward Showground Rd and turn left into the first road on the left-hand side which goes around the opposite side of the Showground near Showground Rd. Take care as the road is in very poor condition. Turn left at the Harvey Lowe Pavilion and approach Budokan from the opposite side.
Our end-of-year 2021 club membership was a healthy 237. During the break, many of our club members’ Judo NSW registrations expired and our membership currently sits at 219. Please ensure that you renew your Judo NSW membership before returning to the club this year.
Feedback from everyone attending this event was fantastic and it turned out to be a great night for everyone. Thanks to all for attending and those who contributed to the food. We believe that functions like this should be a part of Budokan’s annual social calendar.
Club Closure 2021 and Opening 2022 (and other major events). Note that the Council will be installing a new roof and hopefully other improvements to the building during the week of the Nationals, 10 – 17 June and there will be no Judo this week. 2021
